01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan and line with parchment paper.

03 - In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and molasses until thoroughly blended. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in milk and vanilla extract.
04 - Gradually fold dry ingredient mixture into wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
05 - Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth surface evenly.
06 - Bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center emerges clean.
07 - Allow to cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove cake and continue cooling until completely set.
