02 - Add the chickpeas and lightly mash together, leaving some chickpeas whole for texture.
03 - Stir in the red onion, bell pepper, jalapeño, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
04 - Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat or in the microwave for 10–15 seconds to make them pliable.
05 - Divide the chickpea-avocado mixture evenly among the tortillas.
06 - Top with fresh cilantro leaves and lettuce or mixed greens.
07 - Fold in the sides of each tortilla and roll up tightly to form a wrap. Slice each wrap in half if preferred and serve immediately.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It comes together faster than ordering takeout, and tastes infinitely fresher.
  • The spices wake up your taste buds without requiring any heat tolerance you don't have.
  • You can meal-prep these in batches or customize each wrap differently for picky eaters.
02 -
  • Don't skip rinsing the canned chickpeas—the starchy liquid they swim in makes the filling gluey instead of vibrant.
  • If you're making these ahead, keep the filling and tortillas separate; assembled wraps get soggy if they sit for more than an hour.
03 -
  • Warm your tortillas even if you think they're flexible enough—warmth makes them forgiving and easier to roll without tearing.
  • If the filling seems too thick, add another squeeze of lime juice to loosen it slightly and brighten the flavors.
