Ingredients
- For the Meatballs: 500 g (1 lb) ground chicken, 1 large egg, 50 g (1/2 cup) breadcrumbs, 2 cloves garlic minced, 2 green onions finely chopped, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sriracha (or preferred hot sauce), 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper
- For the Glaze: 80 ml (1/3 cup) honey, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1–2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste), 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 clove garlic minced, 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
- Garnish (optional): Sliced green onions, Toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Step 1:
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2:
- In a large bowl combine ground chicken egg breadcrumbs garlic green onions soy sauce sriracha salt and pepper. Mix until just combined do not overwork.
- Step 3:
- Form mixture into 20 meatballs and place them evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
- Step 4:
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Step 5:
- Meanwhile prepare the glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat combine honey soy sauce sriracha rice vinegar sesame oil garlic and ginger. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3–4 minutes stirring occasionally until slightly thickened.
- Step 6:
- Remove meatballs from the oven and immediately toss them in the warm glaze until evenly coated.
- Step 7:
- Serve hot garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
